A big thanks to all the PVD members who volunteered to help, to Scholl Concepts for providing the products and photos, and to Practical Classics Magazine for organising the challenge. We look forward to the next!

Practical Classics magazine editor Danny Hopkins likes to challenge us now and then - but even by his standards, we thought this was a ruse. He sent us the snap of a Rover P4 that had been laid to rest for literally decades in a barn. Danny had decided not only to get it back on the road, but also to rally down to Switzerland... in two weeks. He challenged PVD to get it looking respectable and this is what happened...

The decontamination started with snow foam...

Closer inspection by Nathan Cuddihy revealed just how bad the paint was - we were glad to have the full range of Scholl Concepts compounds at out disposal thanks to the kind people at Spautopia - who also took the rather nice photos. Rich March and Lee Odhams get to work with final decontamination prior to machine polishing.

The difference between old oxidised paint and the finish after machine polishing was as dramatic as it was hard earned.
